Widnows Phone 7 is now officially out.... will miCoach support this platform soon?

  • |
  • Depends on the success of the platform. Right now it is too early to tell. That said, we want miCoach to be available for as many athletes as we can reach.

    • Please release app for Windows Phone 7. The platform is growing fast. I think many users would appriciate at least the app which you could use for browsing your statistics recorded by pacer.

      • I'll have to download that app. Looks interesting. The only downside it seems is obviously not micoach compatable.

      • I've been using Endomondo for a while now and really like it. I guess I didn't really understand what micoach was all about in the first place. Since non of the sensors seem to connect to android phones either or however that works.

Anyway, I downloaded micoach for android the other day and compared it to endomondo on my wp7 and personally dont think I would use micoach.

endomondo works for a large variety of sports. I used it the other day for the first time when I went mountain biking and saw my gps trail15 miles. It was really cool.

So to Adidas, I love my Supernova Sequen, they are extremely comfortable. But you guys were too late on the wp7 app. Gonna stick with endomondo.

    • Update please!

  • Another vote here for app for Windows Phone.

    PLEAAASSSEEEE!

  • i'm using runsat now on winphone but i'd prefer to use micoach, please!

  • WP7 is on the list but development for this platform has not yet started.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know this platform is of interest. I'll post an update once we have additional information to share.

    • That's good news. I look forward to it's availability.

    • From the developer side, Windows Phone 7 is a LOT of work for a doomed platform anyway. MS closed this OS and so developers have to jump through the most senseless hoops to get something working . . This 7 version marks the end of the once so popular Windows Mobile series - already the number of developped applications for it lags FAR behind the numbers reached for the previous versions at the time they were relased . .

      • I can't agree with you. Currently WP7 is fastest growing platform. Already 16 000 apps available. Most important apps have been ported.

Sure there are some limitations, but not limitaions for Adidas to create micoach client. You can already see many similar applications which work

        great, even utilizing tombstoning etc.

Anyway with Mango comming later this year, there should not be showstopper for anything, I would bet WP7 will be the most powerful platform in near future.

      • Wow I really didn't expect to see trolls on an exercise based website. Crawl back under your bridge.

      • There are lots of positives and negatives about first version of WP7, but to say that development for it is hard is incorreect. I worked on software for Android, Blackberry and iPhones and development environments can initially be a mess when compared with Microsoft current solutions. Once you set them up they all work just fine that is true, but development does not represent a negative point for WP7.

I have to admit - one thing is true: Windows Phone 7 has no similarities, shared features or anything else in common with Windows Mobile systems so it does indeed mark the end of "Windows Mobile series"'

Since there is a chance you are a "troll", I'll refrain from posting any future replies in this thread, my intention was just to correct couple of incorrect statements from your side.

    • Is there any update on development?  In May development was planned, but we have received no word if it has began.  Please develop for WP.

    • +1 for WP7 again.

    • Update please!

  • Just one more who would love to see this happen!

    • I vote for WP7 1 Million times.  It may not be as big as Android or iPhone, but it is gaining a stronghold.  Please don't leave those of us that use WP7 out in the cold.  We love to workout too.

  • Totally love my WP7 & Micoach,,,,,, please combine the two!!

  • Wanting to get a WP7 next and hoping miCoach will be available.

  • +1 for WP7:

    - I found out for miCoach after I heard about the upcoming miCoach XBOX 360 game (Kinect support). I love the site and the only thing stopping me is the fact there is no WP7 app. Early look at the game is very promising. If I buy sensor that will probably be to try heart rate monitor, the app I am using fr running works just fine otherwise, but having uploads on the site like this would be great!

    - Hopefully adidas will realize that WP7 games and XBOX 360 games can share XBOX Live profiles, avatars and data. That could end up being and all around solution in correlation with the web site. They could grab bunch of users doing this. Please adidas don't mess up this.

    - To the troll above: WP7 has nothing to do with Windows Mobile (which Microsoft messed up and rewrote completely new experience). It is a great mobile OS, which will only get better. The only reason it is not doing great is bad reputation Microsoft has fueled by trolls like this one is.

Edit: In handsight I decided to write a reply to the person who hopefully is not a troll afterall...

  • + 1 for WP7

  • +1 for WP7.

  • Replied wrong last time.

  • Bitte bringt das App auch für Windows 7 Phone heraus!!!

Ich nutze es auf Android - meine Frau würde es gerne auf ihrem Diensthandy, das leider Windows 7 hat verwenden.

  • +1 for the WP7 version of MiCoach

  • +1 (yet again) for Windows Phone 7. Especially now that Mango is out!

    • Hi Guys,

      Thanks for your feedback.

As stated above by Jon Werner in charge of App development, WP7 is on the list for development but as yet there is no further information we can share.

I'm sure, as he has always done, as soon as there is anything to tell, Jon will post it here and you guys will be amongst the first to know.

      Cheers,

      Rugby13,

      Your miCoach Team

There is many people that reguest windows phone version

    any approximate date??

    • Hi Guys,

      No new info on this.

The statement from Jon Werner still applies.

      Cheers,

      Rugby13

      • I haven't been able to record a workout since getting my wp7. Are you guys planning some kind of release to coincide with the Xbox Kinect game in March?? I'll forgive you just this once for violating company policies and giving me the scoop...

      • Has this now been removed from the Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 7.8 lists?

After more than 2 years from original request, would it have not been a little more honest and fairer to your supporters to say...  'Sorry, we aren't interested in Windows Phone 7 as we don't think enough customers will support it to justify the investment to port MiCoach' or 'only if or when the userbase of Windows Phone 7 exceeds 'X' will we devote time to this'.

Is it silly to now ask about Windows Phone 8?

Please be honest, devote the time to porting MiCoach and tell your supporters this is what you are doing with a target timeframe

        or

state, 'it is unlikely that we will support Windows Phone 8 unless there is an identifiable link between major lost sales of MiCoach products/accesories due to not supporting this platform is clear.

If you need me to list the numerous Adidas sportswear and in particular MiCoach products I have bought for my three boys and me over just the last two years in order to guage likely individual lost sales let me know.

      • Update please!

  • +1 for the WP7 version of MiCoach

  • Get developing or other apps will steal your userbase!

    Wp7 is growing rapidly.

  • Windows Phone 8?

    • Moreover, adidas banned unofficial micoach app in the Marketplace. They neither develop their own app nor allow to enthusiasts to do that. Very sad.

      • i miss the micoach app since moving from, android ... I saw that unofficial app and its disappearance...at least they are clearly monitoring the store. But it would be awesome ti hear of sime progress for this platform. But they hardly developed on android beyond the initial port and never added features like hrm and pacer so i don't hold, out too much hope for a port to WPx anytime soon.

        • I think you are spot on. What saddens me is the lack of honesty from Adidas. Two years of  'it's on the Radar and we'll get back to you' is poor to say the least.

          @ Adidas, has development started?
