Im not sure if Im blind or anything, but I cant find any button for answering threads.. So Im starting up a new one again.

 

 

After probably 250 times, and 10 hours of trying to pair my SPEED_CELL unit with the miCoach Football App, I finally got it to work.

 

 

This is what I did (I have no clue if it had anything to do with the pair success):

 

 

1. I cleaned out the "connector hole" on the bottom of my iPhone as it was some dust in there, gently with a small sharp knife and blowing inside it.

 

2. I changed the language on my iPhone to English (it was set to Norwegian).

 

3. I rebooted the iPhone by holding the home button and the lock button at the same.

 

4. I inserted the CONNECT unit, and opened the miCoach Football app.

 

5. I shook and tapped like a madman on the SPEED_CELL for about 20 seconds and left it on a chair about 1.5 - 2 meters away from my iPhone.

 

6. I put the iPhone on the table, and pressed the button "add device", and not surprisingly it told me that it couldn`t find any devices.

 

7. I continued to try adding the device repeatedly for about 30 times, without shaking or tapping the SPEED_CELL, and about 20 minutes later it suddenly showed up on my iPhone! I set a 4-digit password, but let the name be as it was.

 

 

I got a new error when trying to synchronize, but after a few tries this worked as well.

 

Only thing is, I played a match yesterday, and it seems to show up as three different workout historys. Is there any way to merge them?

 

 

It seems like you just have to continue to try for hours and dont give up... Pretty frustrating, I know..

    Thanks for the post.

     

    I appreciate your patience trying to make it work and I'm glad that you could sync your SPEED_CELL finally after many tries.

     

    I'd like to let you know that our App guys are continuously working hard to improve the performance of the sport Apps.

    I'll make sure that your feedback will be passed onto our App guys.

     

    Alternatively you can also try synching your SPEED_CELL using different sport Apps (such as Running, Tennis) and select the "football" as an activity type. Once you sync the sport App to the webiste after synching the SPEED_CELL, you can view the football related data on your website.

     

    Regarding your match showing up as 3 different sets of data, I'd like to ask you few questions:

     

    • For how long did you play the match? Did you have any break in between? If yes, for how long?
    • Are those 3 different sets of data all related to your match? The SPEED_CELL can be activated by movement. So if you carry it in your back, it can also record the data while you're on your way to match or on your way to home after the match. So please check the date and time of those workouts.
    • Is it possible for you to post a screenshot of the workout history page on the App?

     

    It isn't currently possible to merge different SPEED_CELL workouts together.

      Do you know when your "App guys" plan on a release? 

       

      Just in case could you give me the information so I can trade my speedcell for one compatible with the PC? Or just return it?

       

      Why did you release it if the app didn't work?

      • Haha so I followed patricksen's detailed instructions and it worked.....only took 2 and 1/2 hours.

         

        Below is what I did, some of it I doubt was necessary but I was getting frustrated

         

        1. I removed my case.

        2. shook the speed_cell

        3. closed ALL open apps (double tap button and tap all the minus signs)

        4. put the speed_cell on the arm rest of the chair I was sitting in and my phone with the CONNECT attached on the ottoman.....the phone was about 6 inchs to a foot below the speed_cell and ~2 feet away.

        5. then I just started watching tv and hitting "Try again" when it popped up.

        6. like Patricksen said, I didn't touch the Speed_cell.

        7. about 2 hours later after repeating step 5 the speed_cell was recognized.  I carefully set a password.

        8. like Patricksen I got a sync error for about 20-30 mins and then it synced!!!

        9. after the process was over I had a handful of apps open (safari, im, mail and micoach soccer, micoach tennis and micoach main app)

         

         

        The data looks great and it seems very acurate(which I only had one workout on there so we'll see)  I'm a little concerned how if it'll work after my next workout,  but we'll see.  THIS PRODUCT STILL NEEDS AN UPDATE, for awhile I was pretty sure I bought a plastic rock.

    No problems working with the general app, but nothing with the running app

     

    Anyone knows when a new software will be out?

    @doesitwork, Glad to hear that you also could finally sync your SPEED_CELL after following patricksen's instruction and I appreciate your patience and effort.

     

    @davidm1976, Sorry to hear that you aren't still able to sync your SPEED_CELL via Running App. Please try the following steps in addition to patricksen's instruction:

     

    - Unplug and plug in the CONNECT again. (try this few times)

    - Close the App completely (after closing the App, double click on iPhone button and hold on the App icon until it starts shaking and "-" sign appears at the corner of the App icon. Click on "-" sign to close the App completely). Run the App and try again.

    - Reset/reboot your iPhone and try again.

    - Also try with different sport Apps(Tennis, Basketball, Football) and see if any of the App can find your SPEED_CELL.

     

     

    If the issue still persists,  I'd kindly like to ask you to send an email over to our support team using Contact Us page (or to support@micoach.com) with the following details as they can give you one to one support and help you to sort out your issue:

     

    - your phone model and its OS version.

    - If you were ever able to add the SPEED_CELL to any kind of sport Apps.

    - Steps you've tried to resolve this issue

     

    I'd appreciate if you could write "SCM - your screen name(davidm1976) - SD" as a subject title at the beginning of your email.

  • I too finally got my speed_cell to be paired with my iPhone 3GS (using the tennis app) after hours of attempting (probably around the 30th try over a couple hour period), ran a full battery down trying to do so. Just keep trying while you're working on something else on the computer, or watching TV, or whatever.

     

    I know this isn't remotely acceptable for a product we pay well over $60 for, but it's what worked for me.

  • Thanks for the suggestions .....I'm about to spend a few hours trying to get speed_cell to be recognised by the football App.

     

    I have the same problem everyone has described.

     

    If it doesnt work I will return it to the local adidas shop.  Just wondering if I should get the PC/USB version instead or try another IOS speed_cell?  Is this a problem with Fotball and tennis app or is it a problem with the speed_cell?

     

     

    (the miCoach application see it but the sport specific ones dont.  I'm using a ipod touch)
