I'm looking for an agility, balance, and speed workout plan to supplement a separate strength training plan, and the Nani and Di Maria workouts looked perfect for that. My question is-- what's the difference between the two? In the description, the Di Maria is described as an agility workout while the Nani is described as a quickness workout, but what's the difference between the exercises and emphasis in each one?

Thanks!

  • Hi hamemust9,

    Thanks for the post.

It's a really good question! This question can be answered by our coaches who created these plans. Therefore, I've passed your question on to them.

I'll follow up and get back to you as soon as I get the answer from them.

    Thanks,

      • Hi hamemust9,

thanks for posting. We received feedback from the coaches . Please have a look:

"Agility is the ability to explosively brake, change direction and accelerate again.  In the movement skills circuit of the Di Maria plan focuses on multi directional movement drills which challenge the athlete in this way.  The Nani "Quick and Fast Prep" focuses on the ability to achieve higher velocities with drills focusing on running technique and power development.  Both aspects of speed and agility are essential for the  well rounded football player. While the emphasis of each plan is different, you will see improvements cross over to the other athletic attribute.

While there aren't any position specific workouts, the workouts are designed to emulate the playing style of the professional athlete.  If your playing style is that built around strength and power, then the van Persie plan would be a good routine to follow.  If you base your game around speed like Nani, then his plan would be the one to select.  While we need to continue to improve our strengths, it is important that we don't neglect our weaknesses. Once you have mastered one plan move onto another so you can train all aspects of your game".

        I hope this helps!
