Hi whitecobra,
Thanks for the post.
For doing scheduled workout, you simply need to download the miCoach mobile App from the App store for free. Once you set up the training plan in your web account and sync the miCoach mobile App with your web account, you'll get scheduled workouts on the miCoach mobile App. When you do the scheduled workout with your miCoach mobile App, you'll get the real time coaching that helps you to stay within the intervals set in the workout.
You can use the miCoach mobile App without CONNECT for iPhone. In this case the miCoach mobile App works based on GPS and GPS will measure your distance, speed/pace and record your route instead of getting data(distance and speed/pace) from the SPEED_CELL. However, you can wear the SPEED_CELL while doing a scheduled workout and sync the SPEED_CELL data separately to get more detailed stats.
Hope I was able to answer your question.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,

Hi Chris,
To provide a little further information on your question, the SPEED_CELL itself does not communicate with your web account and so as result, it does not sync a web training plan that you have chosen.
As SportySpider1 says above, if you want to use your iPhone (at least until you move to your new phone), you would download the free miCoach mobile app and that would allow you to sync a training plan to the app and get real-time pace coaching based on GPS.
To further elaborate on the SPEED_CELL- as an individual piece, it records your workout. Just put it on your shoelace or in the SPEED_CELL compartment of your compatible adidas shoe and head out for your training. Then when you sync it to your computer, you will assign the data to a workout and see stats for Max Speed, High-Intensity distance, number of Sprints and also total active time.
And again like SportySpider1 says, you can use both the SPEED_CELL and the miCoach app simultaneously. Keep in mind, you will then have 2 different workouts in your schedule online. The completed workout from your training plan from the app, and the workout with SPEED_CELL data. Currently these 2 cannot be merged as they are offering a different interpretation of your workout.
Have fun with your new SPEED_CELL!
cheers,
