Hi Micoachers,

Anyone like the idea of having a bike mount for your micoach device?

Or the functionality of being able to record cadence?

GPS mapping you're route as you cycle?

If you think these are good, please reply and show your support/share your ideas. They may decide to start making it possible!

  • I'm in... though not sure how I would take a red zone on a bike... could get a bit hairy in traffic ;-)

  • Hola,

    Saludos.

      • Hello, my english is worse...hehe... espero que pronto micoach tenga dispositivos para otros deportes, a mi concretamente me interesa bicicleta y natación. El equipo necesario para triatlon, pero espero que no lo disparen de precio. I hope soon micoah has devices for triatlon, but may be that increase prices a lot.

    • Ya probaste un Garmin 500?

  • i would be surprised if they arent looking into it already.  if they do bring something out i will be first in the Q

  • I like variety in my workouts .  I just bought a pair of inline skates to spice up my exercise routine.  I agree it would be great if miCoach could coach you though a variety of sport activities, i.e., weight training, cycling, running, inline skating, etc. Future versions of the device will no doubt include expanded capability.  My only hope is that rather than having to buy a whole new miCoach, I'll simply be able to download the upgrades  to my existing sensor and buy the additional accessories I need, i.e., cadence sensor.

  • I use a great bike mount called the spiderpodium, holds my iPhone really well and fits any bike/phone see it here www.breffo.com, if you search youtube too you can see videos of it going through shake tests on MTB bikes. Did my first assessment today and for and came very close to being knocked off my bike - not the best start!

  • Can't you accomplish this by using miCoach mobile and pace based zones?

  • I bought a cheap cradle type off eBay as I didnt have much hope of it working on dirt track etc, but have been very impressed so far..

Just joined MiCoach so haven't use it on the road yet, like the plans idea, thought it woud track your cycle track as there's a map on the iphone app, so is that just for the GPS registering distance, speed etc,

If so they defo need to get that updated you can download free apps which do currently do that

  • It would be great cycling with the MiCoach training method. Now I cycle with Polar heart rate gear and for running I use MiCoach. If they can extend MiCoach with cycling trainingprograms it would be a pleasure the manage it with a watch. Than it is easier to get to know your heart rate and to stay in the correct zone.

  • Hi guys, nice to meet you all. I am user from Malaysia. Currently riding a Giant hardtail muntain bike.. installed with Cateye speedometer.. Thinking to use the Micoach pacer as well to do heart rate measurement. As for the distance/ avg. dist calculation, i believe the bike speedometer already can provide accurate distance instead of using Micoach pacer to calculate distance. I only see the usage of micoach during cycling is on the heart rate record. Would you all agree?

  • I have a great bike computer by Sigma, but, I would happily replace it with my MICoach. I guess you would have to buy cadence and wheel magnets to attach to your bike. It would obviously be wireless.

I would want a handlebar mount. I guess a cel phone would work best, but I would use my pacer if it would scroll through info. I want all the basic bike comp. info: Trip Distance, Odometer, Cadence,   Average Speed, Max Speed.

They could create workouts for road cycling; for racing, staying fit, long distance touring, hill climbing.

What I really like is that all training rides would be downloadable to my miCoach page where there would be ways for me to combine all my exercise info and experts assess my overall fitness and adjust my training programs and zones.

  • I have just started to use miCoach and it is great. I believe it can chane the life of many people. However, I would also love to see a bike cadence and speed snesor to be realeased with miCoach pacer bundle. This allows those who  cycle in addition to running have a better view of their stats and progress and develop better plans. It is suprising that almost after one year after this thread first was started, there has been no adidas product for such functionality as I am sure there is a good maket share for it out there, and I would buy one in the first day of its release.

    • The reason is that Addidas run and operate miCoach to sell shoes, and cyclists do not get through as many pairs of Adidas shoes as runners do. MiCoach is great as a functional tool, but it only develops in areas where it is also a great marketing tool!

      • but I will buy shoes from a company that I like - if Nike or Rbk have great app also for cyclist - I will buy their shoes

        • i just joined micoach and am eager to test the waters out. i will be trying the app tonight with the cycling option tonight. i don't have a bike mount so i will probbaly just slide my phone in my arm band and check out the data when my ride is over. it would defianlty be nice to more cycling options and more data

  • I am a happy user of a biologic bikemount. Having this mount is the main reason for buying the adidas connect. It fits perfectly!

There is only one problem. While on my bike I also use an app to navigate my route and when switching in between apps the micoach app stops recording! Can I change the settings so it continues in the background?

  • I am with the original post! I'm not satisfied at the moment with how miCoach calculates the calories burnt, and I think a bike tracker will help. Not that I expect it to be perfect, but I believe it would be closer to a realistic calulation

  • Great idea!!! Do you know if you have a smart phone like an iPhone you can already do this based off GPS. I have used it a few times while riding my bike and works great. I haven't ever set my zones for it though because I use those for running

  • Great idea! Cadence monitor would be perfect also. No better time to implement it too after the olympics, as plenty of people are getting into cycling
