Hi Crazaner,
Thanks for the post.
Please bear in your mind that the miCoach mobile App and SPEED_CELL use different technologies to measure your distance and speed/pace.
The miCoach mobile App measures your stats based on GPS where the SPEED_CELL uses the acceleration vectors from your foot to determine how it moves through space, and from that it can determine how far and how fast you went.
Could you please check the route of this workout recorded by miCoach mobile App and see if the route is correct?
The accuracy of the miCoach mobile App data may be affected by GPS signal. If GPS signal is low, it meas that the signal is coming in less frequent and will give less accuracy. This will cause loss of the GPS points needed to draw the respecitve route hence, the route my be inaccurate which also affect total distance which means it will then affect the speed/pace. A straight line will be assumed between the points where GPS data is missing. This can affect your max speed as well as average speed/pace.
Can I also ask you a question? Have you cropped the SPEED_CELL data?
Some users have been noticing an issue where the max. speed decreases after cropping the data on the website even though they haven't cut out the max. speed part of the graph. Therefore, it would be good to check your max.speed before cropping the data.
If the GPS is good and you've got the correct distance as SPEED_CELL and the max. speed of the SPEED_CELL data didn't decrease after cropping but the max. speed is too big different, please contact our support team (support@micoach.com) with the screenshot of both data.
Thanks,

Hey, and thanks for the answer. I thought about the GPS problem but then it would seem weird it would give me greater speed (both max and average) as the route was correct as far as I could see from the map. I cropped the data, yes, but I took pretty much all of it. I will keep tracking my runs with both of them to see if the problem repeats itself.
Hi Crazaner,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I see! As I said, it would be good to check your max. speed of the SPEED_CELL data before cropping as we've seen some users having an issue with the max. speed changing after cropping even though they haven't cut out the max. speed part on the graph just to make sure that you aren't having this kind of issue.
Also compare the distance measured by SPEED_CELL and miCoach mobile App.
Yes, keep tracking both data and see and contact our support team if this keeps happening.
I appreciate your kind cooperation and understanding.
Cheers,

I did another running workout, and there was still too huge differences. I checked the data from the SPEED_CELL before cropping, and it didn't seem to change (at least the max speed). I compared the data (just with naked eye, because don't know if there is any better way) and the SPEED_CELL seems to be showing generally faster speed. In average there's not that big of a difference (0.16) but there's much more variation with the app. That seems weird for me, and I would think it to be other way around since the app is based on gps-tracking (and averaging?) Also, the max speed with app was 13,70, with SPEED_CELL about 12, and in completely different points of time. I will keep comparing these and do some sprints every now and then to get good marker points, but it would be great to get some hard data instead of graphs for comparison ![]()
