Doing "more" definitely doesn't means doing better. Every zone in your plan has it's own sense.

The idea is that when on a plan, you have long term goal; completing your race by a set time; which you accomplish by completing the short term goals of each workout.
If you aim to accomplish each workout as laid out you will reach all the targets you need to; increased lactate threshold, speed, endurance, etc.; and you will be ready on race day.
They know exactly what to do, when and in what quantities to get you to your goal. Don't think you can out coach the coaches. They know what their doing, that's why they get the big bucks!!
Thank you both for the input. I actually came across this post which explains how to adjust the zones if to easy or hard. I am going to try to see if I can do that to help be more in the target range with my fitness level.
Hi Toothgrinder,
Have you started the plan with an assessment workout to cutomize your pace zones?
miCoach recommends you to begin a plan with the assessment workout as it interprets data from your Assessment Workout to update your pace training zones. This helps ensure that miCoach is personalised to you, providing you with accurate data, results and recommendations. It’s always a good idea to do an Assessment Workout, whether you train with a miCoach plan or not.
As rugby13 said you can also adjust your zones manually, if the zones are set too easy or too hard. However, it's good to increase your effort gradually within the plan to avoid any overtraining. Even though each plan starts with easy training, it's also extremely important. It improves your aerobic base and hlep your body recover. It also allows you to put forth a greater effort in the higher intensity zones to get more out of your training.
Wish you all the best!

Hi SportySpider,
Thank you for the response. Yes I did start with an assesment workout, but I may have not stayed within the required mph range during the intial assessment.
After manually adjusting the zone limits, everything is in range and is just enough of a challenge to keep me physically progressing during my plan.
Thanks again for the assistance everyone!
Regards,
Chris
