OK, I have tried a different battery and I still get the same problem.
Could it be because I have not yet used it in the football boot? But cursely it does not know when to start???

My experience is that it is just broken, either the sensor or the app. Hard to tell which. I have replaced the battery but that does not help. I have gotten it to connect a few times. Most of those times it failed to find any data from the workout so it was all a waste of time.
So replace and refund then or what??
How do I know of its broke or app error.... Not the best start I must admit. Mayb I get refund and purchase different boots with money I get back :)
Hi bl0ckev,
Thanks for the post.
Sorry for the unpleasant experience you're having with your SPEED_CELL.
Can I ask you a question? Were you able to add your SPEED_CELL as a default device on the App?
If you've added your SPEED_CELL as a default device but you can't sync your SPEED_CELL, please try the following steps:
Hope this helps.

It seems to be working OK now and logged my first workout last night.
Is there no way of syncing the iphone with the PC - or is it pretty much one or the other?
Hi bl0ckev,
thanks for posting.
It is not possible to sync first with the iPhone and then to the PC since once you have retrieved the data from the SPEED_CELL you cannot retrieve it again.
However, you can sync from the App to the website, to do it, just launch the App, tap into the miCoach menu and then you will see a miCoach symbol. Just tap on it:
Then you will be able to see your stats in your website account. If you have further questions, just let us know.

Glad to hear you got it working. What did the trick? Does it connect every time?
Yes it seems to - I guess the only down side of the device is you never know its working until its too late.
I think I just needed to start moving which triggered it off.
I just hope now I have synced and when I go for a run later or play football next time it starts a fresh.
Yes I agree there is no indication that it is working. Several times now I have played two sets of tennis only to find that "No workouts were found" when I synced to my iphone.I wonder if the sync to computer hardware is more reliable?
Hi Markcc,
thanks for posting. It is difficult to tell in here as not all the miCoach users encounter the same issue. In your case I would recommend you to contact our Support Team (support@micoach.com) so they can give you further assistance on this. When you do it please let them know your issue and if you have tried some steps to fix it. Also let them know which Apps have you tried and the generation and iOS of your iPhone/iPod. One of our agents will contact you soon.

I'm experiencing the same problem as you did bl0ckev. I followed the steps i got from the mail from technical support. When i removed the Speed_Cell it wouldn't be found again. Haha what a great start with this. Just hoping it will come back to life and work properly so i can see my football stats!!
Regards
Brage.
The next time I go for a run I plan on using it with conjunction with another iphone app to see how they compare once I return from the workout.
I would like to think they are very close in comparison, one good thing about an iphone app you can start and stop them, 1 bad thing about the iphone app is you cannot play football with your phone in your pocket ![]()
Haha fair enough
but you dont need your phone in your pocket while you play? It's saved on a memory chip inside the Speed_Cell and when you syncronize that information is transfered to the iphone.
Well a run sounds nice you better enjoy that MiCoach since i can't test mine yet!!
I think you miss understood me -
I have a nike app for running the streets etc... that uses the iphone but I cannot really use this on the football pitch as I would have to hold the phone on me.
I purchased the Speed_Cell for this reason as I do not plan on carrying my phone when playing.
Can someone who knows more about miCoach explain something....
When I pack my boots and throw them into my boot will this start recording a workout for the 8 hours or say it logs?
When does it know to stop?
I have football tonight and have a feeling it might not record anything if its recording now in my boot ![]()
It said it knows when to start when you have the Speed_cell in motion or something. Gues that's how it knows to start but i read also it doesnt record for that long so it's a limit when to stop and i asume it kinda understands when the practise is finished when the boots are still for a period of time..
Not so good when you are put in net for 5 minutes ![]()
Hi bl0ckev,
Thanks for the post.
The miCoach SPEED_CELL is generally in a standby mode and will be activated by movement.
As a rule you must travel at least 80 meters in a 60 second period somewhere in the workout for it to be considered valid data. This is the 80/60 rule. Some test workouts where people are just taking a few steps around and not fulfilling this rule will therefore not be recognized nor synced.
The SPEED_CELL gets inactive 2hours after activated, however it will turn right back on if the activity is still in progress without missing a data point.
Hope I was able to answer your question.

Thanks for this......
what speed do you have to exceed to be classed as a sprint?
If it becomes 2 hours after being inactive, if I then re-activate it will the device start a fresh or be 2 hours plus my workout?
Sorry for all the questions, its just tricky with no on/off option
Hi bl0ckev,
In the football App, yellow and red zones (pacebased) set in your miCoach web account are considered as a sprint.
This is because 'accelerating' into yellow is a 'sprinting' effort even though you may not get to red due to a change in direction common in a game situation.
Be assured that miCoach only counts the # of times you cross the yellow as a sprints, not the time spent.
I understand that this can be tricky as the SPEED_CELL doesn't have switch to turn it on or off. It's hard to say if the SPEED_CELL recognizes it as two different sets of data or as one, if you keep working out after two hours. I'll check this with our developers and get back to you as soon as I get information from them.
Thanks,
