Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible to use the speed_cell as a stride sensor and a speed_cell at the same time?

In another thread I read that you are able to pair your speed_cell with your pacer and that it than will use it as a stride sensor. But will it than still function as a speed_cell as well? Since I am playing football, I really like the extra stats a speed_cell gives you compared to the normal stride sensor.

Of course I could wear them both (stride sensor and speed_cell) but that is not possible since my adidas shoes will only fit one and I can't strap them to my laces because it will mess up my shot.

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello Loeffen,

I am kinda new to micoach but i will try to answer based on my experience. I recently bought the HRM and the Speed Cell both with the iPhone connect adapter. I found out that i could use the Speed Cell with the micoach app in the iPhone (where it was used as a stride sensor) and then i could login to the running app in the iPhone and sync the Speed Cell data (it was used as a Speed Cell). So i believe that even when the Speed Cell is used as a stride sensor it does indeed save the data in its internal memory for later retrieval.

Hope i helped (and got it right)!

    • Hey Guys,

@Starback - Bingo!  You are right on the mark.  SPEED_CELL can be used as a Stride Sensor with either the Pacer or the miCoach mobile app, and then after the workout, it can be synced to a Sports app to retrieve SPEED_CELL data.  In essence, during your workout, it is both communicating with the miCoach app/Pacer and recording 360 degree movement data as well.

All the best to both of you for your training.

      cheers,

        • Hi Loeffen,

          Thanks for posting.

It might be that your body is causing a bit of interference and that is why your SPEED_CELL cannot be recognized. I would suggest you to place it on the shoelaces and shake it a bit to activate it. See if that makes any difference. Also, please check the battery of your SPEED_CELL as it might be it is empty and therefore the device cannot be picked up by the Pacer.

Try it and let us know how it goes,

            • Hi Loeffen,

              Thanks for the update.

Glad that the SPEED_CELL can be found as a Stride Sensor by Pacer when wearing on the shoe lace.

It isn't currently possible to combine or merge the Pacer's workout data with the SPEED_CELL data.

However, it's a great idea to merge these data together to get one completed workout data as they appear to be two different workouts on the website even though you've done just one same workout.

I'll make sure that your suggestion will be passed on to our web guys and hope this feature can be implemented in the future.

              Thanks,
