Hi,

The calories burned in adidas micoach seems to be a lot higher than shown in calculators such as: http://www.triathlontrainingblog.com/calculators/calories-burned-calculator-based-on-average-heart-rate/

For instance I just played a game of hockey over 1hr52mins @ an avg bpm of 140. Micoach shows 1869 calories burned, whereas the above calculator shows 1426 calories burned. Is there a reason for the huge difference?

  • Hi,

I am having the same problem. My Garmin FR70 is showing 380cal and miCoach app is saying 538cal.

I am using miCoach app with speedCell connected to my iPhone with Connect. And a Garmin watch FR70 with theirs HRM. The speed cell is paired with the FR70 for pace and distance. And Garmins HRM is connected to miCoach app for the BPM.

    miCoach app

    Avg BPM: 153

    Avg pace: 6.44
    Distance: 5.09km

    Calories: 538kcal

    Garmin F70

    Avg BPM: 153

    Avg pace: 6.45

    Distance: 5.10km

    Calories: 380kcal

    Which one is correct?

  • The calories are about the same for my last few workouts though. I first calculated my VO2max, and then I calculated the calories with the site given above.

It gives me a difference of only 10 kc for every half hour MORE with the SITE.

I think micoach bases it on the same formulas, but calculates the VO2max itself or something.

It might also be that micoach takes in account not only the median heart rate, but it uses sections with max and minimum etc. The site doesn't have that information. For me, my last few workouts didn't contain much interval training.

Or maybe ... it's just nicer to girls
