Thank you for all of your hard work on this application! I love how it works and I cannot wait until the version for the Storm phone is complete.

When is this ever going to happen?
Soon as possible. We were all set to go and ran into an issue with pace smoothing in the charts. Being perfectionists, we wanted to insure the same visuals BiM users were accustomed to would look the same in miCoach.com.
Great, is this pace smoothing being introduced to micoach so the charts aren't so 'up and down'? I'd really like to see the GPS fine tune functionality back too if possible?
Bones in Motion migration is now in place. Visit bimactive.com to setup your account to begin migrating your data to miCoach. We have put a throttle in the migration such that one activity will be migrated every 4 seconds to your account. So if you have years of activity data then it could take a few hours.
Those that are still using the BiM Active app on their phones will now have their activities posted into their miCoach account auto-magically as well.
Let me know how it goes ![]()
Hi John,
I have been lax the last few weeks with regard to my walking activity; actually, it was never anything but spotty before. So, I guess I'm making a pre-New Year resolution to get a routine going. I started the transfer of my BiM data just a few minutes ago and I will wait awhile before looking over the miCoach data logs. In the mean time, I have a few questions.
You said "Those that are still using the BiM Active app on their phones will now have their activities posted into their miCoach account auto-magically as well." Will I also be able to auto-magically view my completed activities directly on the phone as before?
Should I look over the miCoach app for use on my blackberry, or is it functionally identical to BiM Active?
Lastly, where can I make feature requests? I am intersted in tracking geocaching activities.
Thanks a bunch, Doug

You will still be able to view your data on the phone just as before.
If you have a compatible Blackberry (8310, 8900, 9000, or 9700) then I would switch to miCoach to get access to the real-time coaching. This is a big feature upgrade if you take the time to select a plan and follow it using your miCoach mobile app.
There are a few geocaching apps available on the Blackberry. I haven't tried them but you could give them a try. There are other activities that have higher priority in the queue to be supported at this time.
Thanks, this is helpful and I have already switched apps to miCoach. I have a Bold 9000 and a quick walk around the building seems to work very well. One BiM feature I cannot find is Live Tracking, posted on the website. Is this planned?
Thanks for a great app. :Doug
It is planned. This is a popular feature we were not able to get into the first version.
I have just migrated my cycling data from BiMand it went very smoothly.
However, my achievements record my fastest mile as taking 4 seconds.
I do try my hardest and do go down hill pretty quickly but 900 MPH!!!!!
Is this a glitch with the migration process. It has only been anhour since I set off
the migration.
Thanks,
My transfer worked just fine. I just went through and assigned the appropriate workouts to the right shoes and I'm all caught up. :-)
+ I am very much looking forward to the addition of the live tracking in the next version. And now that my runs are breaking the 5 mile barrier, so is my wife.
Jon,
Love your work thus far. Keep it up. I've been a BIM Active user for several years and actually like some of the newer features in miCoach. The other day (around 2/5/11) I mistakenly changed my email (temporarily) and discovered that the migration from BIM Active to miCoach ceased. Today (2/15/11), I switched back to my original email account. I can see the data on the BIM Active site but it didn't get migrated to miCoach and there's no "migrate" function available on my BIM login page. Will I still be able to migrate this data to miCoach or is this just a loss? Furthermore, is there a way to download all of my data en masse for a personal database?
Thanks again for all of your and your team's hard work,
REMZilla
There was a glitch in the migration process that has been found and fixed. Now we are in the process of going back and migrating those workouts that have been recorded or uploaded to BiM but have not been copied to miCoach.
Give us a little bit of time to wind the tape backwards to se what was missed ![]()
All systems should be working with back-dated activities migrated since February 3rd now made available in miCoach. Let me know if folks are still having issues.
Jon,
I was wanting to show off your new Adidas format to a number of my friends using an awesome climb we did on August 1st 2010. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear in miCoach but /is/ present in BIM Active. Any ideas why that is?
Thanks again for all your hard work.
Ride a Bike! It makes a difference.
Thanks again Jon,
It's been awhile since the migration and I've since purchased a Garmin Edge 800. However, I recently went to my miCoach account and for some reason can't even see any of the GPS data that was migrated. Is it too late to download all of that data now that the BIM site has shutdown?
REMZilla
Hello, I logged in to setup my migration a couple of hours ago and nothing has migrated yet to micoach. Is there a known problem with migration right now?
Thanks
Give it 24 hours to complete.
Thanks, I will check it again tomorrow.
Looking at the migration logs, there are several accounts that have failed to migrate because of invalid miCoach credentials being entered on the bimactive.com migration setup page. Sign back in at bimactive.com to see if you are presented with the setup page again as this will indicate your credentials are not matching a valid miCoach account.
Jon,
I have the right credentials but some of the data has not transferred?![]()
Ian
I have seen that most of my workouts have migrated over, but not all (most of October is missing - overall I am missing 65.26 miles) How long should I wait for the complete migration to take place. Also will the routes be migrating as well or must I build them all again from scratch?
Thanks.
Dan
So far I'm liking miCoach. I can't wait to have the app for my BlackBerry Storm. I was hoping that you would have this ready to go. I'm running the MCM10K on Sunday and was really hoping that it would be ready. I've been training with BiM Active and would love to have had this app in time for may very first race. Just keep us posted on when it will be ready.
Thanks for the great tools. BiM has really kept me motivated.
So can i just download an activity from my laptop (Garmin) like i did with BIM? Is this possible with micoach? I cant figure out how to do this. I dont use my phone for my workouts so i dont understand how to download my Garmin ANT workouts to micoach. Am i missing something here?
You can now continue uploading Garmin data to bimactive.com as before and this data will be auto-migrated into your miCoach account. Let me know how it goes.
I posted this on bimactive's forum but have received no reply so I will post here as well.
I know it was stated that we would no longer be able to add activities in BIM once we were migrated. The thing that I did not realize would also be going away would be "publish to blog" for activities that were already there. Since my BIM blog will be going away I was going to go back and publish all of my workouts and races to an external blog so I would still have them in the same format. Can this be turned back on, or is there a way to do this from micoach?
Well, I've been migrated, cannot function in micoach the way I did in bim, and can no longer enter workouts in bim. I may just be too stupid to figure it out. I know I've not paid anything for bim, and really appreciate what it has offered for the last several years, but it still kind of sucks when something you've used so well for so long goes away.
My bim blog: http://rtroeh.bimjournals.com
How I use it: I use a Garmin Forerunner 305. I download my data into Training Center, then export a .tcx file. In bim, I import the .tcx file. I write a brief description of my workout... how I felt, who I ran with, anything interesting that I saw, etc. I will also manually enter any other workouts including weights, cycling/spin, swimming or just stretching. I then publish the workouts to my bim blog. This gives me a full month on one page where I can see the entire workout including splits, elevation, maps, etc. I don't have to click through each individual workout. I can share this page with others, and I can easily look back at entire months for races, or just how my training was going at a particular time.
I've looked at micoach, Garmin Connect, Mapmyrun, and Daily Mile and can't find this type of functionality anywhere. Any ideas anyone, or am I just SOL?
You can now continue uploading Garmin data to bimactive.com as before and this data will be auto-migrated into your miCoach account. Let me know how it goes.
Jon,
Ok, first, let me add to the numerous comments on the BIM board that it's been a great run (no pun intended) and BIM has been a tremendous tool. Kudos to you and the rest of the BIM gang!
Change is hard but you guys obviously saw the value to moving over to miCoach so I hope to learn to love it like I love BIM.
I migrated today. The migration went quickly but doesn't seem to be entirely correct. There seem to be missing activities (like the Chicago Marathon on 10/10!) and activities mixed in that weren't runs but it seems like miCoach doesn't differentiate between activity types like BIM did. Is that right? Even sorting and listing activities to check them doesn't seem possible like it was on BIM. Maybe I'm hitting the wrong things.
I posted on BIM too but is there a way yet to add manual activities like we could on BIM? Can we still fine tune? Delete an activity?
Sorry - I can't find any of this stuff on miCoach!
I'm sure you have more than enough to do and I understand some folks miss the blog and other features of BIM but is there any chance someone could write up a simple tutorial of how a BIM user might start interacting with miCoach to at least start with the most BIM-like experience? I'm all for added features but right now I'm just trying to figure out how to not miss getting a run in here the right way and making sure that my existing BIM data is migrated correctly.
I'll miss BIM as it was for the last several years as many people will but I'm sure sticking with you. It'd be great to understand what of the "old BIM" functionality will eventually be part of miCoach and what won't. That means big issues like live tracking and blogging, I guess, as well as little daily stuff like editing activities, fine tuning, deleting, renaming, sorting, browsing, etc.
Thanks Jon!
Josh Kanter
Still don't have all my data transferred from BIM emailed 'getsupport@bim-inc.com' on the 28th still no response even though they say will respond in 24hrs.
Micoach does not allow import or export of data else would do the missing update myself,
Does not allow to take out stops and bad gps signal
does not allow input of heart rate (Manual)
Does not allow achievements to be split by sport
Support is poor at best
Generally poor comms
Plus lots of other really useful features in BIM are missing from Micoach
Come on Micoach get you act together; this could be a really good product
Disappointed BIM user ![]()
I migrated my 2+ years of BIM data, but most of the route information was lost. Not sure of YOUR terminology, but I had a route (either GPS or map-drawn) assigned to virtually all of my runs, and almost none of that shows up in the migrated routes. Only about 2 or 3% of my runs still have routes associated with them.
Further, I've tried to figure out how to associated routes (hand-drawn in miCoach) with new runs, and am striking out. My kids are learning all kinds of new words.
I have other tools to log my runs -- what made this unique was the mapping. If that's gone (or only works with GPS now), I can do without.
TIA for any assistance you can provide.
Brian
OK. We found the issue and are working on a fix. Will post with instructions on what, if anything, you will need to do to bring over your remaining workouts.
In the mean time, check out this short video on how to create manual activities and associate a route with them.
Let me know if your manual activities with routes have migrated over.
Jon,
Short answer: No, my BiM activities with manually entered routes are still NOT showing up in miCoach.
I did see progress in manually entering runs in miCoach, tho the two-step process in leaving, then coming back to a given entry to enter the route is needlessly convoluted.
In other news, I tried exporting a few of those BiM Routes for import into another application and that ALSO failed. BiM produced the export files, but they weren't considered valid for import by RunKeeper. I'm not sure where the fault lay with that one, but users importing from other sources weren't reporting any problems.
Thanks for staying on top of these issues.
Regards,
Brian
If you are having activities that did not migrate, all is not lost. All of your data is still backed up and saved at BiM. We just need to find out why certain activities didn't migrate and fix them. Please send in your BiM email address to getsupport@bim-inc.com so we can sort things out for you. If you want to help us even further determine the issue, please list the date for each activity that didn't transfer.
So far, over 95% of all activities have migrated. We just need to get the others on board ![]()
Everyone who has migrated should be seeing their manual activities show up within miCoach. If you have had to update your password to meet the new requirements them don't forget to re-enter your credentials at bimactive.com as well so that future workouts will be migrated to miCoach.
Jon, I've already initiated the migration process from BiMActive and only need the manual routes to be migrated. How do I enter my new micoach password in bimactive.com? I've dug around a little but cannot find where to update the micoach password.
Thanks,
David.

If you were not prompted to update your credentials then you are good to go and there is nothing you need to do.
Have you recently updated your miCoach password and not updated this at bimactive.com? Give the process until tomorrow if you are not seeing your manually created activities created in BiM show up in miCoach.
That's right, Jon, I updated my micoach password yesterday, but don't know where to update this information at bimactive. I remember initiating the migration at bimactive with my old micoach password, but I haven't seen the migration screen again, as most of my activities came across.
David.
If you do not have anything left to migrate then you will not see the migration page at bimactive.com unless there was an error with the credentials. Do you still have activities that did not migrate?
If you are only waiting on individual routes and not activities to migrate then you have migrated all that will be migrated to miCoach. Individual routes were not migrated but you can recreate your routes by viewing each workout that has a route attached to it and then adding that route to your personal route list. No need to recreate the routes by hand.
Jon, I only had half a dozen manually-created routes that have not migrated. I'm happy to wait to see whether they migrate successfully. Thanks, David.
hi guys,
i used both BIM and Mi Coach before migration...
when i migrate lot of my training were duplicated....
there is any merge procedure???
You should not be seeing duplicate workouts migrated from BiM. However, is this the case or did you manually create workouts within miCoach that match those migrated?
some are manual and some are pacer generated.
Jon,
My manual entry activities on BIM still haven't transferred over. I did send an email to "getsupport" as instructed. Is this still being worked on?
Thanks very much,
Josh Kanter
Jon,
I have followed your instructions and I still have data that has not transferred, I have no manual data.
Regards
Ian
Make sure you have updated your miCoach credentials on the migration page at bimactive.com as you have probably had to update your password recently.
Sorry, Jon I must be missing something, but I'm not clear how to find the migration page at bimactive once the original migration phase has completed. Presumably because I have already performed a migration, when I go to bimactive I am presented with the Dashboard and I can't find any links to get me back to re-enter my new micoach credentials.
Thanks, David.
If you are seeing the dashboard page then your credentials have been entered correctly. Is this the case?
Hi Jon, I guess that must be the case. Here's the chronological order of events:
1. I visited bimactive once migration was available and was prompted for my *old* micoach password
2. Migration occurred (with the exception of manual workouts)
3. Later, I was prompted for a *new* password at micoach.com, and successfully changed it.
4. I visited bimactive and was still taken to the Dashboard, even though my micoach password had changed and I had not updated it at bimactive. Manual workouts have still not been migrated.
To be honest, it doesn't bother me greatly, since I have only a small number of manual workouts. Just thought it might be handy for troubleshooting in case others are experiencing a similar issue.
David.
ok. This helps. Thanks for the feedback.
Send your bim username to getsupport@bim-inc.com so we can investigate.
Practically all manual activities have now migrated. Only two didn't make it (#530312, #530308), and I'm not too worried about them!
Thanks.
David.
Our pleasure. Sorry it took so long to move through the process.
Jon, I see that none of my activities from BIM have migrated since April 26. I particularly need the one from May 7. Is migration still happening?
Jon, as we approach the end of the year, can you give an update as to when we can see the app for miCoach on the Blackberry Storm?
There are some additional tweaks needed to support the Storm 2 using what was developed for the 9800 touch-screen device. The 2 big differences are in the touch screen technologies (the Storm 2 has Sure-Touch) and the navigation button (Storm 2 doesn't have one). Given the popularity of this device we are trying to get it out as fast as we can with the user experience you should expect from adidas.
Jon, so a lot of time has passed and I still don't see anything regarding miCoach on the BlackBerry Storm (original version). Was it decided that miCoach would not be able to be used? Please let me know. As I've been waiting sometime to be able to use the full version of miCoach on my phone. Currently, I still use the bimActive app from app world. Would miCoach be able to be supported on the new rumored BlackBerry Monico (aka Storm 3) when it is released?

We waitied for RIM to provide firmware updates to fix a headset audio issue most of the CDMA Blackberry's have. Unfortunately, several fixes were rolled out but none fixed the wavering audio issue we were hearing thus making the coaching narration unusable. We test on all the new devices so if the audio passes QA then it's likely we will support it.
I went to BIM Active numerous times to migrate over to MiCoach, but nothing ever happened. I still can't find any of my workouts on MiCoach. Is there anything that can be done to recover my data since the www.bimactive.com is gone?
Thank You.
